Scott Mirkin is represented Nationally, by the Group Incorporated Production
Consortium, (GIPC), and through this affiliation, was part of the Team of
Executive Producers of Philadelphia’s New Mayor, Michael A. Nutter’s
Inaugural Celebration. Scott’s responsibilities included the assembly and
oversight of the 20 person production staff, production design, labor
negotiations, vendor selection and the conversion of the 30,000 square foot
Cruise Terminal, into “Philadelphia Realized” The Inaugural Celebration.
This event featured local cuisine from over a dozen restaurants, and
featured performances from many of Philadelphia’s music, arts and cultural
groups. The event was a complete success, and proceeds of the Inaugural were

Rendell Knoll Inaugural Gala Concert 2007
Supervising Producer
Scott Mirkin was one of three Executive Producers for the Second Inaugural of Governor Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania. Leading a team of 30 production professionals, Scott oversaw all production, operations, logistics, media services, and talent for the three official events of the Inaugural: the Official Swearing-In Ceremony, Celebration of the Arts, and the Inaugural Gala Concert and Ball. Mirkin oversaw site selection, planning and scheduling the conversion of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex into the venue for the Inaugural Gala and Ball, as well as, the production and broadcast of the Inaugural events. Scott worked along side of the Executive Director of the Rendell Inaugural Committee, executing the wishes of the Committee and the Governor. With high regional media coverage and national media coverage, these events celebrated the work of the Governor over his last term and built excitement and further support for his new term. return to top
Tug McGraw Foundation Gala 2006
Executive Producer
As one of the biggest philanthropic events of the year in Philadelphia, local and national celebrities came out to help raise money and awareness for the Tug McGraw Foundation. ESM transformed the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building into a spectacular gala with a multitude of delights for the guests including receptions, Texas Hold’Em Poker, silent and live auctions, as well as the live stage show with musical performances, award presentations, a video premiere and more. ESM Productions produced all aspects of this event including the stage, lighting, and AV design, video production, talent, show, poker, and coordination of all details that made this event a true success. return to top
Muhammad Ali Center, Grand Opening Gala 2005
Staging Producer
Lead the team responsible for the load in, construction, lighting, and execution of this live Television Variety Show. Managed all of the Artists’ technical needs, lead the audio, lighting, stage, and props crew through the execution of this historic tribute to Muhammad Ali. Included performances by James Taylor, Herbie Hancock, Richie Havens, Kris Kristopherson, Hootie and the Blue-Fish, and Ruben Studdard. return to top

Election Night 2004 with John Kerry and John Edwards (Live TV)
Producer
Represented the executive producer and the production team to the event venue and the City of Boston’s operating departments. Charged with seeking City approval of production and construction plans. Worked directly with the lead Secret Service agent and served as the main technical contact for talent (Major Acts). Identified and evaluated vendors, prepared RFP’s, and managed vendor costs. Led the team that maintained the myriad site plans, CAD drawings, and stamped engineering studies required by the City. Served as liaison to the Media Operations team, the City, and the Democratic National Committee.
Included performances by James Taylor, Cheryl Crow, Jon Bon Jovi, Carole King, & Black Eyed Peas.

The Final Goodbye, Implosion of Veteran’s Stadium, 2004 (Live TV)
Executive Producer
Led the production team responsible for the complete design of the official viewing area, including staging, lighting, media logistics, security, and hospitality services. Managed “international broadcast pool” feeds of four cameras inside the DIZ and the stadium, televising the implosion worldwide. This was the first time a live servo camera was used in this manner. return to top
Presidential Prime Time Address to the Nation, 2004 (Live TV)

Lead the production team that was responsible for the transformation of a 100-year-old athletic building, into a television studio for a major address by the President of the United States. Oversaw design and construction of lighting, staging, audio, power distribution, and press infrastructure. These efforts earned Scott and his team a citation from the White House Communications Agency. return to top

Pennsylvania Gubernatorial Inaugural, 2003 (Live TV)

Implemented the design and execution of the Rendell/Knoll Inaugural Ball, a mammoth event staged in the 176,000-square-foot Pennsylvania Farm Show Arena. This complex technical event required more than 1,500 lighting fixtures, 2,200 feet of truss, seven miles of cable, and more than 300 people to set it up and take it down. Transformed the venue within a 36-hour window. Also identified vendors, created RFPs, evaluated costs, and represented the executive producer at meetings with the Governor Elect’s staff and security. Served the overall production team by managing the CAD and site plan teams for the swearing-in event as well as for the Gala. return to top

Also handled all logistical arrangements, including pre-production meetings, equipment rentals, and crew services. The event was shot live to tape and had all the elements of a live sporting event. 2001 Maccabi Games Opening Ceremonies

Managed all technical aspects of this internationally acclaimed event, including: lighting, stage, and sound system design, load in, build, rehearsal, and execution, and pre-produced video segments. Ceremonies lasted more than two hours, included more than 800 cues, and required 45 crewmembers. Personally called all cues and directed all action. 2000 Republican Convention Lighted Boat Parade & Fireworks

Managed all technical operations for the opening night event of the 2000 Republican National Convention, including all lighting, sound and pyrotechnic systems. Also handled all initial research and design of the custom barge and crane devices used as the backdrop. The event required months of planning as well as 10 days of pre-production construction 20 miles downriver in Chester, PA. Oversaw all technical operations relating to design, wind testing, weight surveys, construction, rehearsal, transportation, and event execution. Received the International Award for Technical Production from the International Special Events Society for the design of a wireless cueing system for the automated lighting fixtures. return to top

Produced this entire live to tape event, intended for private distribution. Assembled a design team and transformed an empty field house into a world-class soundstage for the performance. Dealt directly with Aretha Franklin and her staff, taking care of all amenities, travel, transportation, and lodging. The broadcast-quality live to tape event was covered with a mobile production facility. Handled all aspects of event coverage, production design, set design, audio design, and instrument support, as well as mobile dressing rooms and security. return to top

Responsibilities for this historic event included media relations, meeting with the Secret Service, and designing a complex temporary radio network as well as the set, stage, and sound. Handled all ADA requirements for the multiple locations and served as executive producer of the national invitee functions.
